Congressman Emanuel Cleaver on "PoliticsNation"

Earlier this week I had the opportunity to do makeup on Congressman Emanuel Cleaver for his live appearance on "PoliticsNation" with Al Sharpton.

"Shattered"-Concept behind the design

This full body painting piece was inspired by an art contest open to all mediums based on the "Meaning of Love". The success of this piece consisted of a patient model, fun and very helpful photographer, lots of Mehron and Temptu makeup and some awesome hummus and pita chips.

The Concept

Love of all kinds always comes with the risk of loss and hurt but also the reward of happiness, laughter and lightness. This bodypainting piece conveys that you can wear your heart on your sleeve along with  some armour to shelter it. Whether the love is really wonderful or not so much, there will be some type of disappointment and shattering during the journey. Just keep the love in your heart and trust your gut to lead you on your way.

3 Time Telly Award and Philly Award Winner-Hello Baby

How exciting to work on a project that receives 3 Telly Awards and a Philly Award. Cristy not only did makeup but also wardrobe styling for this "Hello Baby" film noir inspired fundraising video presentation for Truman Medical Center and their annual Fashion for a Cause event. The video was created by Prizm Productions.

Some exciting news that lets Cristy know she has amazing and supportive clients and colleagues. Cristy was named One of Constant Contact's 2010 All Stars. Happy New Year! Let's have a Rockin' 2011

I'm looking forward to 2011! Already have some great jobs on the books and can't wait to see what transpires in the meantime.

I truly thank all of my clients, colleagues and friends for making my freelancing business so much fun. I'm in my 11th year now and love the styling, the makeup just as much as when I started. I'm also loving my newest found love, bodypainting. It does sound so cliche and cheesy but it's true,  I really don't feel like I'm working!!! The days, the people, the concepts, the projects are so different and diverse.

I encourage everyone to follow their dreams, find their passions, take that risk (a calculated one of course), have some faith and work hard!
